From the infamous author of Sankarea, comes yet another filler manga.

This is so fluffy, why is it not more popular around here. I think the only bad thing I have run into is the fact it's not fully in color. It would be soooooooooooo much better in full color.

It's probably because besides it being a slice of life manga, the form of storytelling that is being used is quite hard to follow and doesn't flow very well most of the time, and while you see a lot of things happen in a single chapter you don't feel like anything noteworthy happened in it. And sadly i'm finding it difficult to like any of the characters in this which would've made this a better read. Maybe it's just me, but i agree with calling this a "filler manga", because it's what it feels like. All in all, i don't think i'd recommend this to anyone, there are lots of slice of life manga better than this.

Her amnesia is something that might make this more interesting later on, but that's about it. User Twfi said this manga depicts Atami's scenery well so i guess if you have been there before you'll enjoy it more.

All I can say is that the usage of the word "bittersweet" is always a red flag for me.

@Nermie01 absolutely nothing "bittersweet" about this manga. In fact it can be positive to the point of stupidity.

Weirdly ecchi too.

@BCS YET, that is. This is by the author of Sankarea after all. Bittersweet is definitely still part of the equation. Also explains the ecchi.

His art style, at least on the cover, is way different than his previous works.

Edit: Ah. Social Engineering Manga: Hey NEETs, this is how you take care of clothes.

I read through all the available chapters. It's VERY different compared to his usual works. Very slow, slice of life stuff, about a girl with amnesia working in a resort town as a clothes cleaner (basically a delivery laundromat / dry cleaners).

There's some oddities -- we see a flashback of her on top of her building, dirty or beat up and looking terrified -- and for some reason she has an encyclopedic knowledge of how to clean things, but there's no explanation of it, not even to her.

I don't know if "bittersweet" is the right term, but it's a slow, comfy series about a cute woman cleaning things and talking with other people in town. If I had to compare it to something, I'd compare it to Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, that manga about the robot girl running a cafe after the apocalypse. It's definitely not what I expected from the guy.

@kita. (Sorry tagged the Wrong user...)

Now we just need said NEET to be reborn into another world and start his adventure cleaning... lol

About his other works... do you wanna take bets on if it goes sideways with something weird later on? She does have a retcon called amnesia after all...

I wouldn't take that bet. They're already setting something up with the masks et all -- romance between her and the high school boy, at the very least.

I fully expect her to be like, a mountain spirit that moved into town after her shrine was neglected. Or destroyed by the woman whose house was built on the hill, or somesuch.

Given her ability to clean, and her instinctive knowledge of Japanese dolls... Maybe she was a shrine maiden assistant to a mountain god or something?

It's ambiguous at best. The male MC became some sort of pseudo zombie by being bitten by Rea and others so much, hence why he was able to survive when she ACTUALLY lost it and attacked him and ate his heart. Then he was given an artificial heart by her father. There's no indication they actually ended up together, and in fact, the epilogue has Rea interact with the grandchildren of his busty childhood friend... with no mention that I can remember of the male MC at all. It's a non-ending ending.

I'm honestly quite confused. I don't know what direction the manga wants to take. I originally thought the atmosphere felt something SoL like Isekai Izakaya Nobu, but then it added tinges of mystery through the amnesia and rooftop scenes. It's vague, but by no means it's bad. I'll have to keep reading to ascertain my thoughts on this.

@Nermie01 About Sankare ending.
in manga and film too, Japanese have a thing and go their way to tease reader like that. For pure kid love atmosphere with these shy shiet. But still given enough for you to assume thing. There type of ending is not really open ending. there is no cliffhanger or anything will stop them. The feeling is mutual and even the childhood girl get them a room. It actually fucking weird it someone even assume other route like he will married someone else. The last panel is some thing like, Always... forever... until i root. Yeah, they obvious can't have kid. But sure he can live pretty long and keep each other company until her dead. But it turn out her immortal now so he will die first. Still it will be pretty long. even in the extra chapter, i can also bet on the theory he still alive since we know how long his grand life and his dead not even by old age.

From author of sankarea eh, gotta keep an eye on this one for now. Last time i reading sankarea ending it's pretty much "bittersweet" and got me thinking, and stir my feeling real "nice". But so far so good, wholesome and cute stuff and all that, but if there's any dark turn of event's it's doesn't surprise me at all seeing this is from sankarea author. But i hope it continue with pleasant and wholesome atmosphere, without any unnecessary tragedy.

Implying a relationship is one thing, but I read that ending. There is nothing implied there. Sure, admittedly it is in the realm of "who else would take either of us" (*coughchildhoodfriendgirlwasstillinlovewithhimcough*), but without any sort of concrete development it is completely open to interpretation. Additionally, with how the epilogue played out, with no mention of the male MC whatsoever that I can recall... there is nothing to go on that implies they had a relationship. Clearly the childhood friend girl (now a grandmother) has been protecting Rea in the forest for years, so she's fine, but the MC is never mentioned again. The ending doesn't explain anything about their relationship, and with the way the story went, an open ending with an interpreted implied relationship between the two was VASTLY insufficient to make up for what they went through as characters. Sorry, but the Sankarea ending was bad and completely not worth the effort in getting through the rest of the books.
