This whole chapter could have been solved in a minute if Aimi had thought about the fact that if her friend "also likes Kirio-kun", then why she couldn't say it outright and Momose get it. After all, there's nothing shameful, compromising, or problematic about some girl falling in love with a popular boy. Therefore...

I think she’s more hung up on the friends thing tho idk if Kirio is particularly popular tho it’s been a while since I read from the start so idk if there’s more “rivals/competition”, since even if he’s on the soccer? Team it’s not like he’s the star/ace of it (plus the situation of his dead friend?/implied he also didn’t go outta his way to make more/get close to anybody)

Not to mention it’d be awkward if you were to tell someone you like them for them to respond “actually I’m in love with ur friend”

Precisely because it's a comedy, things I described above happen. But I'm afraid that to develop this theme deeper any further would be fraught with spoilers, because we've reached the final arc and the last volume.

Well, i don't think he's like an outcast or anything maybe he's 'average' but i wouldn't think ppl would react with "You're dating HIM of all classmates? Gross." Or something lol but you never know with teens
