Once again I think the King is showing a keen mind on how to use the MC. Ex is part of a society, and he receives support from that society, so he owes duties and responsibilities back, after all.

And the Second Prince isn't too shabby either, showing that he knows what the MC wants and using it as leverage to get his cooperation.
