I wonder how the economics of that mine had been working. The bandits obviously had been doing some mining, using whatever material they got out of the mine for the arrowheads, but other than that. How did they feed themselves? Obviously there weren't bloody hundred bandits, I'd guess Talyan never learned her numbers, but there was still a big bunch. Were they selling some of the ore (or whatever they are mining), perhaps also robbing some travellers on the side?
Now Martin Luther needs to figure it all out, to make the place turn a profit while keeping the workers properly fed and paid. Because if they aren't paid, they will all disappear. They are in the boondocks, near the border, so nobody could do anything about it even if they left. Ex might be keeping Talyan as a hostage but do you think ex-bandits would give a damn about her fate?
