Gyaru Persia one of the things I never knew I wanted or needed to see. She's so cute, awkwardly trying out being something different, but also very brave because not everyone is willing to take the effort to try and see the world from the perspective of someone they disagree with.
@himeleth up to this point I'm confident to say that the two countries are in essence two different versions of Japan. The West is pretty much a version where Japan was heavily colonized and developed all the post war culture like up to eleven... while Towa represents a Japan that reached the modern days without said influences... The main point here that even calling themselves east and west both speak fine japanese... The mind blowing part about this hypothesis is that there a prefecture in Japan that capitalizes on there own brand of ocidental-esque culture... or so says Meitantei Conan...
Ps.: A safer bet is that the time setting is at least post a century (or even more time) of conflicts, diplomatic relationships and in betweens... Dahlia town has that contrived 50/50 layout... the cultural exchange/appropriation should be severe... sourcing all these discrepancies from time to time...
Ps.: Sasakibe Choujirou from Bleach would be a good case study too...
Since his a japanese born and through... that loved english culture so much that even reform his shikai into a rapier even if it meant weaking it
This must have been a very difficult chapter to translate 😂
@himeleth Creator Provincialism (trope!) at its finest. Like that maid cafe Char worked in where they served curry. Technically, it could be possible (neither maids nor curry are Japanese in origin, and both were brought to Japan by Westerners), but I think that was a case of "accidentally accurate".
