@lexzphantom different scanlation groups translate the manga into english. Sometimes 2 different groups will translate the same manga and will release their own version.
a translated manga is called a scanlation. scanlations are not official nor they are verified by the author.

Seems the best pratice to accelerate a release, you translate a chapter as a random translator and immediately after the original group release its own. ?

sorry, it’s just that i invested a lot of time into this manga and I just cant give this manga away to another group. we get it, we’re slow and this “drama” served as a wakeup call. btw i had to ts this chapter in a single day today. ? also they just released 2 more chaps, which means we have to release 3?

So the anime arriving wasn't enough to prompt an effort to catch up to the raws or at least switch to a timely release schedule, and neither was translations on 4chan being way ahead.
But when someone else says "screw it I'll do it myself", all of a sudden you not only could but "had to" do a chapter in 1 day, instead of your usual 2-3 weeks.

It depends on a case by case basis.
a) In 5toubun's case, LHT's translation was so bad to the point that some anons translated chapters themselves and eventually they took over the manga.

b) In some cases a group has a slow release schedule even though the manga they handle has good translations. It might be because of real life commitments (translators are people too), lacking staff to churn out chapters, or some other reason. Then some fans of the series try and translate it themselves to hopefully catch up to the raws (we're about 30+ chapters behind and what's happening in the manga right now is great).
Well some translate it just because:
i.) they really want to catch up to the series and want other people to become fans of the manga (especially since Juliet just finished airing its anime so new fans will try and read the manga but might get discouraged if translations are behind by a lot).
OR
ii.) to make the original group speed up their translations. Sometimes it works, group A (in this case dropout) releases chapters too and then group B (anons) stop scanlating after they see that group A is really trying to catch up to the current raws or group A and group B team up and translate the series. Sometimes it doesn't, group A see this as sniping then scanlation drama happens (don't even get me started on this shit).
OR
iii.) outright trolling, they hate the group or whatever reason they just want to go with.

I was a little surprised because the chapters released so fast. Finally, i come here and find out there is a new translator. I've read your translation for a long time ago but i need to say that it was really slow (about 3 weeks for 1 chapter). The raw version is at a climax right now so maybe it's the time for you to speed up the translation ?
