Sirens wailing, I'll explain my use of the term "lacquey" as in "Prefects' lacquey". The previous translations used "General Affairs" but I find that a bit weird. If anyone would let me know what term was used in the Kodansha officials, that would help.
The original text used "fag", as in "a junior pupil at a public school who does minor chores for a senior pupil". But I figured people might take it to mean something else.
My proofreader suggested "lackey", as in "someone who does menial tasks or runs errands for another". Yet again that could mean something else in today's context. So I went with "lacquey", an accepted archaic spelling of "lackey". That also fits into the pseudo-historical vibe of the story.
