take a shot whenever a character says "talentless" or "incompetent"
:aquadrink:
in the 4 chapters available on here that would be around 48 shots (i could've missed a few, i was just skimming through the chapters) but chapter 1 alone would probably send you to the hospital with 22 uses of the words "talentless" and "incompetent".

if you're curious chapter 4 is in second place with 14 uses, chapter 2 is in third with 8 uses, and chapter 3 is in last by a decent amount with only 4 uses total.

When you do machine translation, please doubt every pronoun the MT gives you. Japan is famous for subjectless sentences, so the program attaches a pronoun since English requires it. But the pronouns are decided almost at random.

On the top of page 29, the text says, "And yet he is talentless and incompetent, unable to even handle magic properly." Throughout the series so far, who do those attributes apply to? Not the prince. As long as you question whether the pronouns are correct or not, you can find the correct pronouns for the sentence from context without even knowing Japanese.

There are a bunch of other similar (but maybe not so obvious) mistakes in the translation.

Be more careful of which pronouns to use. The MT may be lying to you.

As I mentioned before, our MC here is not consistent with what we are told about her.

She's supposed to be talented in social affairs, but she managed to get physically harmed by someone who was originally concerned about her. The prince's assault was one thing, which she might have actually intended in order to get a medical record of her injuries, but she gained nothing in provoking her brother into doing the same.

She might be smarter than she pretends to be, but she is not as wise as the author pretends she is. If anything, her 80-ish years as a japanese woman have likely dulled her judgement regarding people of the fantasy world.

QC doko? Proofreading doko?
thanks for the effort, I’m sure it took a while to do this, but it really needs some of the above.

Honestly MC feels less like a wise old lady and more like a weirdly smug masochist.

Like she's getting off to reveling in people thinking she's "talentless and incompetent" and in no one knowing that she's soooooooo perfect.

He hit her quite hard and is treating her just as poorly as the rest of the family. Is this chapter supposed to be his redemption because he regrets slapping her to the floor and then heals her?
