There is a tiny part of me that wonders if Shirokawa isnt aware of the phobia, and is just 100% flirting. We know, from our perspective, that most of the time Kiyota goes to pieces its because of her phobia (and being a big gay disaster), but maybe Shirokawa is just seeing her as being a big gay disaster who goes to pieces over flirting with no knowledge of her phobia. Thinking through some of the times Kiyota had a phobic reaction, it was to interactions that would usually just be interpreted as flirting. I.e Indirect kisses through food, holding hands, walking together under an umbrella, touching someones face, wearing each others clothes, getting handsy on a train, having a sleepover and taking baths in the same tub, reading the same books and mentioning the steamy scenes. So, part of me is just waiting for some kind of rug pull moment where the author reveals they've been tricking us all along or something.

The more I think about it the more I feel like this is the way.

All day, Ive been playing through potential scenarios envisioning a confrontation where Class Pres accuses Shirokawa of bullying Kiyota with her phobia, and Shirokawa being confused/upset because she didnt know about the phobia. Then reflecting back on all their past interactions and realizing that she was triggering Kiyota. She distances herself for being selfish and not realizing she was upsetting Kiyota. Kiyota gets down on herself for suspecting Shirokawa was trying to set off her phobia.

Drama. Angst. Self Recriminations. Blah Blah Blah.

Kiyota realizes that even though she was often uncomfortable she was also happy spending time with Shirokawa, so she sets off to fix things. And to top it all off, they quickly make up and Kiyota asks Shirokawa to help her with her phobia because... "Kiyota San WANTS to Get Dirty."
