That's why it makes you a little less miserable than others, because it draws the negative attention of others, which balances out any happiness you might have gained by becoming paranoid, distrustful of others, and generally more anxious. Are you really happier when everyone knows you're rich?

lmao who is making these weird "Money wouldn't bring you happiness cuz people look at you funny" takes. Money solves the problems of not having money, simple as that. How people perceive themselves and others when they do happen to have money isn't the fault of money, but a reflection on their own pre-existing nature and view on money.
That is what people don't have money try to tell themselves so they feel better. Money would definitely solve many of the problems I have now, like the expensive medical treatment I need to cure my chronic illness. I would definitely be happy if my illness is gone.

Like I said, it makes you less miserable than others. So you'll usually want enough to cover your basic needs, but after that? =/ What comes when you have everything you could ever possibly need? Emptiness. You realize that everything you have has only superficial value. Or you start wanting more and more, to satisfy your greed. Either makes you miserable in the end.
