this manga makes me feel the same as that one evangelion episode in which they had a power cut during a hot sunny day. Its a weird kind of feel but I don't hate it.
@Fuko It isn't really that dangerous. There is speed limit in the city. And it is pretty normal in Asian countries. I went to school like that from when I was 5, sitting behind my dad on his motorbike. Almost all children go to school that way except those whose family own a car.
@miyako19 it is dangerous. Motorcycle riders without helmets die in accidents disproportionately often compared to those with helmets. Most fatal accidents are fatal because of head injuries. It also doesn't matter what's normal in "Asian countries" (it isn't normal in all of Asia); it doesn't make it less dangerous.
@miyako19 i'm asian and i ride motorcycles, and i still think wearing a helmet is a must. It's not whether it's normal or not, but rather about reducing the risk of potentially breaking your head open and spilling your brain out. I get it, i know some who doesn't wear helmet heck i sometimes don't wear helmet if i'm just going to the convenience store. BUT, it's still not advisable.
this is Japan in the Showa era, so rules were more lax about motorcycles, especially in the country side. Doesn't make it any less dangerous, but that's how society was back then.
