George R.R. Martin is a devious old coot. He took a completely normal phrase that anyone might say and made people associate it with his setting. Even before I'd touched any of the series, because of the internet I'd already started associating "Winter is coming," with the thing. So here I am reading some unrelated thing, but whether intended or not by the author or the translator of this, now I have Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire on the brain.
