Also Ayano's cute in this chapter. Deciding she has to be just the perfect height and having all the actresses she admires be sexy girls is a fun thing for a girl to do, and that she sees herself being by his side in 5 years, and even seems to be setting up the idea in her head that he'll be a director who directs her is the sort of magical optimism a kid has.
But oof man. Oof. Isshiki's thoughts are rough. I'm glad we'll finally see where they come from, as well as this mad and desperate desire to make Ayano a success.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm glad that Ayano's got a crush on the guy and will try as hard as she can to stick by him. He needs to feel like someone finds him worthwhile and precious, because the glimpses we've seen of his inner world are growing more and more dire.

Nah, didn't seen like it. I don't know what really happen, but it seems this Akari was caught in a scandal. This scandal may also involved our poor MC here. She wrote him letters and he started responding. She was looking forward to cooking together with her mom, her mom bailed and she was super bummed, he suggested cooking together to cheer her up and her mom agreed.
See, the cool thing about that page, where the co-worker lists off all the things that happened, is that we saw that they all made sense at the time. But when you put them all together like that, you start to realize just how much it all is. We've been with him while he dug a hole here, but now we see someone calling to him from above.
Because he's also genuinely doing things that feel right, trying to help this lonely kid feel better. He's also clearly driven by past failures, which we're gonna see soon. But these motivations have led to actions that have made him deeply invested in this kid, and he's literally only supposed to be covering for her manager who's currently away on maternity leave. We see him take emotional inventory of his attachments and she's literally the only one, and he's not even supposed to be assigned to her on a permanent basis.
It's why I'm actually glad that Ayano has a crush on him, cause she'll make it clear she wants him to stick around. Because investing this much of himself only to have the talent casually leave would be very bad for the guy.
