his boss knows that he suggested exchanging letters with a 13 year old girl and invited her over to his apartment alone for lunch and is cool with it?
lol every now and then I realise how dumb this manga is.
She wrote him letters and he started responding. She was looking forward to cooking together with her mom, her mom bailed and she was super bummed, he suggested cooking together to cheer her up and her mom agreed.
See, the cool thing about that page, where the co-worker lists off all the things that happened, is that we
saw that they all made sense at the time. But when you put them all together like that, you start to realize just how much it all is. We've been with him while he dug a hole here, but now we see someone calling to him from above.
Because he's also genuinely doing things that feel right, trying to help this lonely kid feel better. He's also clearly driven by past failures, which we're gonna see soon. But these motivations have led to actions that have made him
deeply invested in this kid, and he's literally only supposed to be covering for her manager who's currently away on maternity leave. We see him take emotional inventory of his attachments and she's
literally the only one, and he's not even supposed to be assigned to her on a permanent basis.
It's why I'm actually glad that Ayano has a crush on him, cause she'll make it clear she wants him to stick around. Because investing this much of himself only to have the talent casually leave would be very bad for the guy.
