This is my fav manga RN.
Bro it's tough subject matter but the art and characters are great.

The whole internet is like purity police "pedo manga!" but they obviously haven't read it.

He's trying to help her navigate growing up and her career, but I think she's gonna end up helping him navigate his trauma. It's not meant to be ecchi and shit. Even the subtle hints at it are so common in this industry IRL where girls grow up too fast around older men.

I know whatever his damage is, it's gonna hit em both hard.

If the mangaka wants to timeskip them to being together I won't even be mad.

This was way to cute to read. Isshiki is trying so hard to be the mature adult by keeping Ayano at an arm's length, even going as far to say "I'll teach you this isn't love". At the last moment the sudden realization hits him that it's not just a one-sided love from Ayano he's dealing with maturely, he's obsessed with her as well.

He thinks about her all the time and does everything for her sake, thinking that it's just him satisfying his desire to do well at his job but his senior Kayo completely shatters this illusion by pointing out all his actions from an objective standpoint. The lanyard with the autumn leaf is the final nail in the coffin and he's taking it off as if he's saying "what the hell and I doing".

I'm glad you noticed this too I wrote this a few comments earlier but it's funny to see how he tries to resist a 13 year old girl and says that he can resist when she is 18 years old although I think he will already understand that he won't be able to give her to anyone when she becomes an adult

his boss knows that he suggested exchanging letters with a 13 year old girl and invited her over to his apartment alone for lunch and is cool with it?
lol every now and then I realise how dumb this manga is.
She appears like the kind of person who usually doesn't give a fuck about anything but will take notice of those she cares about.

So many missed opportunities to push back against distorted beauty standards. First there's when Ayano tells Isshiki she wants to "hurry up and get a curvy body like that!" where the best response he could muster is an "Aren't you getting too impatient?" Like, really dude? Then there's the obvious glee on Isshiki's face when he hears that Ayano's father was big following his more muted response after initially hearing about her mother's 'lack' of height.

I understand that as her manager in the showbusiness world he needs to care about her appearance, but if he really wants to be an older brother/father-like figure as well, the least he could do is tell her that traditional beauty isn't everything; That not having a particularly curvy or tall figure is nothing to be ashamed of.

Most frustrating of all is that this was probably not a deliberate choice by the author, but instead an all too common blindspot.

It's crazy how we're 20 chapters in and we know basically nothing about the girl on the cover of the manga lol

Thanks for the chapter

That last page with his younger self reminded me of myself at my first job. Smiling, full of passion and hope for the future.

Ah to be young and naive...

For the bit of context I guess his young self (how young, really?) was an artist/actor/??? and he got entrangled with his manager?

He first asked permission for her parents before bringing the girl who’s alone to his house. Ever heard of busy parents leaving their child to their trusted acquaintances to look after them? It’s practically the same.

And their every interaction is known by everyone because our mc who’s an adult report every interaction he had with the actress to his superiors. Thats how his job works.

Context is important and his professional setting is not the same as your everyday private interaction.

trusted acquaintances who are adult men they've never met before?
pointing out that he's meant to be a professional just makes it even more obvious that his actions aren't appropriate since the standards would be higher for a professional relationship than say a trusted family friend.

If Ayano ever ages up in the manga, we're going to have a hell of a time telling her apart from Akari (the girl on the cover), because they look really similar

we can just look into isshiki's eyes if they are filled with love when he sees her or his capillaries burst when she takes off her shoes then it is definitely ayano
