I have just discovered this series and I am completely in love with it

I wish to goodness Japan hadn't thrown away so much of its material culture and replaced it with Western stuff. Western clothes are fine, but it's so boring if everyone everywhere wears them! I probably would look weird walking around Japan in a yukata or whatever given that I'm as white as white can be, but maybe if I was walking with a kimono-wearing wife it would be less weird...?

leans over, whispers in her ear "Calm down"
turn up the heat to full blast, cover her in a dryer-fresh blanket, shove a hot water bottle in "Don't be so warm"

From Japanese people I have talked to, they are usually flattered when non-Japanese people practice Japanese customs, as long as you aren't all in, not half-assing it or otherwise being disrepectful.
One of the world's top Fue players is a white guy and Japanese (again, the ones I've talked to) think that it is great that someone who isn't Japanese was interested in Japan's culture enough to master the instrument.

This is more like salisbury steak. This is not a smash burger eaten on a bun. Although it would taste heavenly on a brioche bun, with some extra sharp cheddar and sliced avocado.
