Why do authors write such annoying and stupid conflicts?

I can agree with AmbiFMA up here. The Author purposely wrote Sana, Nana and Shouta to have 0 self awareness about their public image when they went out on dates without disguises all for the purpose of building up to this conflict coming to bite them back in the ass. Whats frustrating is that them having 0 self awareness about being out in public like that ever since the first chapters was unreasonable.

now they made Kotori act like 1000 IQ chess play has been made when in reality, not only Kotori could've possibly gotten the scandal photos but just anyone out in public could have outed them with photo evidences during those times Shouta was dating them.
