I know the title and story makes it seem at least trans-adjacent, but you can have body dysmorphia without gender dysphoria.

This whole story has been him discovering and embracing the fact that he's the "small cute one" and by this point, that's become a core part of his identity, and more importantly, that's the thing that (in his view, at least, and justifiably so) got him together with Midou.

And for just a moment, that was threatened, and he understandably panicked.

I mean, think of something about yourself that is important to you (anything at all, really). Now imagine being told that in a year, that thing would be gone and you'll never get it back.

It's not really a gender thing. It's a core identity thing. Sometimes the two overlap, but not always.

And yes, puberty blockers will delay the onset of... well, exactly what they say, but wanting to stay small and androgynous isn't the same thing as wanting to go through female puberty either, and he'd eventually have to do one or the other.

I didn't finish reading the chapter today because I had to go to work. Now that I came back I also wanted to comment that it's sad to think that poor Midou thinks that falling in love with his boyfriend is something that he has to be forgiven for :qq:
I hope his coming out is swift and realises that it's not a sin or a crime to love someone the way he does

That's precious. Thank you!

They're very mature for their ages too. Some adults can't communicate this well!

Good chapter, good translation, good if you to post it.

thereā€™s one thing that got lost not would have been super awkward sounding if you crammed it in, if possible. I would need another pot of coffee and 2 hours.
ā€even if itā€™s meā€
ā€no, because itā€™s youā€

I canā€™t fit that into the exchange without forcing it. The sentences donā€™t flow right, and the point gets across. Itā€™s just wordplay as a thesis statement to what he says next.

I am not reading comments on this manga anymore, btw.
feel free to reply if you want to be put on ignore šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Not so easy to do in Japan, they have a shit ton of roadblocks for that.

And even when you manage to get the medication you need, you better make damn sure no one finds out, cause they have a huge social stigma towards taking them.
yeah, I'm aware šŸ˜”

thankfully for actually-trans-AU!Hiura, social stigma doesn't exist in the world of Koisuru (Otome) no Tsukurikata

I really like how Midou immediately went to how to support Hiuraā€™s gender journey even as he grows and changes. Iā€™m team Trans Midou all the way but itā€™s a genuinely thoughtful way for the author to take the narrative even if theyā€™re not willing to talk about HRT.
