Haha, when she started telling a story that reminded me of a friend from a long time ago.
In our language, Bangla, 'chatting' is usually said as "golpo kora", which literally translates to "make stories/tell stories"...but it's also meant as "let's chat!" in normal conversations, which he was supposed to use it as. You can already tell where this is going.
We were waiting for something so we were bored and he just said out of nowhere "let's chat!" and started saying "Once there was a king." And I couldn't stop laughing till what we were waiting for arrived. It was such a stupid and obvious joke...but how had this joke never been made before!?!?
(Starting stories with "There was a king in a kingdom..." or "Ak deshe si-lo ak Raja..." is the common generic starting of kids tales here in my country...similar to how you people know "Once upon a time...", we also feel the same way about that line. lol
I changed it to "Once there was a king" cause it gives off that feeling better in English.)
It's a pointless comment but I just felt like telling.
