A great series. From a teaching perspective, however, that was a really terrible lesson! Ah well.

I get the comments here that the end of this arc isn't a definitive ending point to the story. For me, that kind of transient element seems entirely appropriate for such a philosophical manga.
Yeah, this manga has always felt like just a slice of the manga. Just as we only know bits and pieces of other people’s lives, so do we only know bits and pieces of what happens outside of the story.

Also looking up the author to see what they’ve done is interesting because she made All Out, a rugby manga that got an English release. Never would’ve expected her to make something so mainstream-ish.

In a way, the ending never had to be more than this. The manga was never one continuous story with one consistent goal at the end - it was a bunch of situations, which differed each time to offer a new aspect of ethics, and the ending showed that it will continue this cycle.

Yeah well, for an improvised debate it could have gone worse, but yeah, that went quite badly, you fucked up sensei

He did had some logical arguments beyond his emotional response and desire, for example, the hope that as long as the patient remains alive, there's hope of an eventual recovery even if low, as thus one would be against euthanasia, of course he derailed this with the idea of self asserting one self regardless of appearances, and this lead to the debate falling apart, because at that point what is even the anchor point if your own fickleness is serving as guide?

Oh she got called out, she is right, also bro brought up religion last chapter, and it was up to you to make it clear that religious beliefs wouldn't have been valid on the debate, but you didn't

Does life has inherent value? but before even going there, what is value anyways? what is mattering, what is worth, and to whom, to what is that value being considered? how do you measure impact, priority, and importance?

I got you a bigger one tho, a CEO who only human connection, is other CEOs, and their livelihood is the exploitation and abuse of all other humans, they do keep their social connections, in fact their status and position means, they are some of the most well connected and socially ingrained members of a society, they are latched in like a thick buried deep on it, but the nature of the connection is predatory, they don't reject connections they embrace them and squeeze them, are they then more human, than those that seclude themselves from others, the historic predecessors of monastic priest and monks, the hermits removing themselves from society to write and ponder in seclusion and practice stoicism or asceticism, or in a more mundane and less vindicated manner a modern day shut in in their room?

Well quite on brand with this manga to end leaving us with more question than answers, some controversy, and a lot of holes about the life of the characters, we never got to find the real story behind the gossip with his ex...

Damn, i thought we still would have 20 or so chapters before it ends now im just sad…

There’s so many stories i want to hear from sensei and would even love a third class if its possible rounding it off with a reunion for all his classes but alas

This and yumenashi sensei is one of the goated adult manga there is, can’t wait for their next work🙏

The ethical stuff is nothing new but seeing how many different characters react and shared their experience is the stuff. Great series nonetheless. Its getting 55 chapters is kinda a miracle, imo. Thanks Creeg Scans for picking this up and putting out chapters quite fast too. Anyone interested in something like this should read this (nuked here though lol) https://mangadex.org/title/ce6ae4bc-aab9-43b6-a11a-f79aeb4bf548/night-patrol-teacher

I enjoyed the series, I was rereading it up to this finale. The early chapters were a bit too drama filled with people running around screaming and over the top things. The dialogue got lost in the sauce at times trying to quote various Philosophers, I can't say there's much that stuck out to me in this series of it's own merit (scenarios yes, dialogue itself not so much). Once you get to the mid-section (Class 2) it hits a really nice stride where the characters all have their moments and Takayanagi not being this superhero but rather a vehicle to help the Students find their way. I think that concept was super interesting, how he would TRY to help but sometimes it was simply him leading the Student to other characters who knew more. By the time we hit Class 3, some of those issues are never addressed like the JK Prostitution business in this Chapter (which is more realistic, you won't solve every problem). The relationship between Takayanagi and his Sensei was fantastic, it was really sad seeing them go on a trip together to his decline, passing, and cleaning of material things left behind. I really enjoyed Takayanagi's struggle to try and be an ethical Teacher.

This series was just a small look into Takayanagi's experience as an Ethics Teacher and the ending reflects that. Just like on your own final day of Elementary/Middle/High/College Classes, it suddenly comes to an end with no real conclusion to speak- and continues with a new class. I do wish we focused more on Takayanagi's mental state this chapter instead of the drama between students- it would've been far more cathartic to see his breakdown but I can't quite state that and argue for realism, now can I?

i guess the only thing we could do is support the artist by directly buying the chapters officially. the sequel may or may not happening, but I’ll do that with my savings in the near future.

it’s been nice knowing this series. it’s too and the reunion with his past students won’t happen.
