eeh it's not exactly "drawn". this is a series that makes extensive use of 3D model assets and then applies filter effects to produce the backgrounds and objects. it's far more obvious in the early chapters. artist strikes me as someone who specifically enjoys drawing chracters more than anything.

Well the ranks on the people make sense now.
But like real life the ship classification is always a pain to get right. In this latest edition its now a destroyer like is fellow captured ship that was also a rust bucket.
If learning about ships in our own history has taught me anything, its that people can call a ship 13 different names and classes for whatever reason and they will be correct and wrong. A sloop in one place is a frigate in another and then a different name during peace because of reasons.
So, yes our home ship is now a Destroyer that can go 12x the speed of light in real space or something, has the insides of a luxury liner while having self defense guns and can carry space craft, probably.
While a more normal destroyer is a small, slow, tough, gun boat that can probably only have a ship docked to it.
The Far future maybe just as ridiculous as old history and this fiction is probably more realistic than one might think.
