Probably, however I do also think it fits Mori's character and any good women that would come his way he would just push away. He is an extremely lonesome person, that can't speak his mind. He is prime target for using and exploiting and that's why he grabs the attention of so many bad women. There are also few good people in this manga in general, I think it's just to enhance Mori's sense of being an outcast.
