I’m still not sure if Nikolai is a bad guy or is just a bit of a bully
i would say "please tell me this mc has the brains to avoid further entanglement with the nobility" but given this i doubt it even being led by the nose by nikolai after that stunt. i for sure wouldn't trust a damn word that one would say given the tactics employed.
mc really needs to reassess himself or he's just going to be a plot macguffin at best. this is a medieval themed society, the best weapon here is information, surely there's a religious exemption to marriage equivalent to a vow of chastity at least you can use to get outta this spider web as in these times religious orgs could sometimes overrule kings.
you just need to feign it long enough to skip the kingdom and set up shack either in contested area ideally so they have to spend more influence and resources to mess with you, or a forgin kingdom that doesn't yet know your feat or thinks its baloney then keep running for a year or two to give them time to get tangled up in political soup and forget about you for a time.

Pretty good setup, but right now I'm wondering if the writer is anywhere near as clever as they think they are. It's starting to feel more like plot points pulled from a gacha being randomly glued together.

Nikolai isn't necessarily 12 years old.
The phrasing leaves the meaning open to question: "He even saw his first battle at the border."
Not "He even saw his first battle" period. This means he could have seen battle before the battle at the border.
But this doesn't mean he was older than 6 when he saw his first battle at the border.
What does leave his age open for question is this line "that was about 6 years ago, wasn't it..."
This doesn't give us any information about the battle, not about when it started, not about how long it had been going on before Nikolai first got involved, and not about whether or not the war ended when Nikolai got involved, it could have gone on for many years after his first involvement, or it could have ended when he got involved.
In the latter case, he would be roughly 12 years old, but.
In the former case, the war could have lasted for many years after his initial involvement, which means we don't know how old he is, he could be 12, or he could be 20, he could be older than 20 or younger than 20.

No shot Nikolai and Lyle are male.
Both sisters are referred as male probably because medieval fantasy so women can't get achievement so they pose as male.
Or as someone else pointed out their family made sure that they have a wierd conception of genders.

Not what I meant by that, the A-sama priestess convinces her that she needs to be MC's little piggy if she doesn't want to be thrown away. So, she literally runs around on all fours, going oink oink, grossing out the MC, and me reading it.
