I've owned several ferrets and this is very accurate.
It's actually amazing how ferret-proofed my house is now, it's almost boring. I kinda miss the days where I'd find my little guy crawling around inside some furniture or behind something heavy.
It's also true they usually live short lives and experience long, painful deaths from health complications. It's almost guaranteed. Something you have to prepare for when you get one. It's almost like the universe balancing out something so cute with such a horrifying end.
Really cute manga, makes me appreciate our ferret all the more. He already has free run of the house and gets nice hot meals made of a mix of canned food and special kibble, but this makes me remember to appreciate ours even when he bothers me and tries to get into rooms he isn't allowed in.
