It didn't take long for the dude to murder the guy who betrayed him. Kinda abrupt ending, especially after seeing all the flashbacks about the duo. I was thinking the dude would conspire or mislead Kohaku into helping him take out his target. Not the dude taking his target out himself offscreen.

Now the dude doesn't have any strong reason to go back to the human world unless he finds out the truth about why Kohaku saved him when he was about to be executed.

I'm curious what would be the next hurdle for the couple.

Wow, both of the MC's are deeply broken individuals. It's probably why I find the series so interesting. He's basically sleeping with a time bomb. Will she get tired of him or will he get prayed on by other yokai. And the Tanuki got some interesting growth as well.
Looking forward to what new things will happen for them in the future since it seems our Fox lady wants kids, but they will always turn out human?

If I were to guess it's them coming to terms to being in love and the classical learning the real motivations. But honestly the fast track of killing his mentor has made the pacing confusing.
