he's getting the same pressure from japanese society as his wife is getting, so really just talking it out now that we know that neither of them particularly want children should solve this whole thing (and growing the courage to tell his family to mind their business), but since the author already decided to plant one dimensional villain and savior characters (i'm willing to bet single mom coworker planted the divorce papers or smn) this is bound to become one annoyingly, draggy, frustrating story
