I love the MC’s blunt uncompromising personality and I hope his core never changes, but up until now he’s only faced battles with low stakes and/or against opponents not much stronger than him when he wasn’t that strong himself. While I love him experimenting in the middle of battle and not caring about status or tense atmospheres, I do agree it isn’t worth dying (especially now that he has more connections in this world).

Contrary to his looks the MC is definitely childish in that he marches to his own beat. He never should change that aspect, but he’ll need to learn when to turn it on and off and act appropriate to the situation (or at least his own ability/skill level). This kinda feels like season 1 ATLA Aang going against Zhao’s fleet in the northern water tribe and finally realizing the threat he faces, how many people are depending on him, and starts taking his responsibility more seriously and that doesn’t stop him from being himself, it just means he learns when to get serious.
