that's abrupt ending. kinda see it coming since sales isn't great. it's cute and wholesome, with likeable quirky characters. it's just not funny or notable enough. also they are stop pretending by the end of series, and become the very thing they was acting, which kinda awesome. 8/10, gonna miss it. No gyaru in this class

I think the biggest miss of this series is that nobody ever got to know their "true" selves, and just the front that they put up, would've loved to them all reacting to the "mountain goddess"

Y'know... I know this was never meant to be the most grounded series, but the last few chapters really feel like the author was throwing a tantrum over getting axed and decided to make it the most random ending they could reasonably get away with. ._.;

Thanks for saying that out loud. I'm so sorry for the mangaka, that his little, cute manga was axed, but they should know how manga industry works. I don't understand why they decided to create such a nothingburger of an ending. But now that you say, "throwing a tantrum" might be good reason why.

Aw... So sad this one has ended.

It was probably axed because some cynical people complained how wholesome this manga is and how offensive the wholesomeness is, as it is not representative of real-life relationships.

i don't think this was axed. the author's previous series - don't blush sekime-san, and rental girlfriend tsukita-san - both ended fairly quickly. at this point i think there's enough of a pattern here to assume that the author just doesn't like sticking to the same series for too long, in the same way that wataru momose (author of romantic killer and my marriage to saneka) has explicitly confirmed that they prefer to do shorter stories and that they were not in fact getting axed.

the rapid pacing of the ending could possibly be just a matter of the mangaka having gone the "safe" route with the pacing in case they ever wanted to squeeze in more chapters (since time skips are always easier than pulling a non non biyori and saying "these new chapters happened in between the previous ones during the same time frame" - especially when romantic progress is involved), but having run out of ideas, they decided to wrap it up and went for maximum time warp so they could depict the ending they had planned initially.
but then again, that's just my impression of it - it really could be that not enough people like this author's series, so every series they made kept getting cancelled after just a few dozen chapters, but i doubt they'd let them keep publishing roughly the same stuff each time if that were the case.

either way, I'm going to look forward to this author's next work - every single one has been a gem so far.

Ultimately while it doesn't ruin the series, I definitely agree the ending felt like the weakest part of the series just due to how much tell and not show there was and how much it just rushed through three and a half years of time in two chapters.
