Is it a thing in Japan to run blindly with rumors like this, even when proven wrong, or is it just another trope?
I never understood their mentality of victim blaming (like when they say "didn't you cause this?" or "didn't it happen because of you")? Seems like victims are considered just as guilty as the perpetrators. It's so damn weird... almost like there's no concept of innocence at all, just guilt by association/involvement should something happen. The only way to be innocent is to not have the bad luck of being victim to a crime.
