"Suffering from petrification" is such a fantasy disease it's a wonder it doesn't appear more, or variants of it.

Mixing "basilisk" with "cockatrice" to make a name for a monster is strangely appropriate, since those two have been mixed up historically.

"I won't say anything bad, but it's better to stay away from him."

Good way to contradict yourself immediately.

And then he just calls him a monster anyway.

She's a bit too talkative when it comes to presenting details she shouldn't know... Kinda weird they don't pick up on that.
