Love this flashback chapter, especially the visualization of Teshima-sensei's process. That's how I feel when I learn in drawing.

Also love the throwback to Love Roma.

Also really liked Toyoda's storytelling which takes great pains to show that while Hebichika is pretty thoughtless about how her last-minute demands for changes on a whim affect her assistants and Teshima's opinion of her has soured, Teshima still learned a lot from the opportunity, both directly (drawing lines for screentones, advice on tones for different objects) and indirectly (that she needs to get glasses so she can properly see things like perspective and color).

crazy good chapter— totally fell in love with the "how can she draw something so beautiful?" page, the perspective and framing on it is great and the emotion is so sharp and powerful!!!!

it only hurts because it feels like you lost, in both spirit and art. sometimes the answer isn't to try to rationalize your hurt by distancing the art from the artist, but rather to decide to kill them win haha
