Yeah, there's no real need for me to add my two cents to the convo; I echo the sentiments here. Not a particularly good look for the FemC (and the manga up till this point), who has done a decent job at avoiding common, overdone tropes.

Ignoring how horribly cliche this entire scenario is why does it seem to be a group of dudes almost every time? If I was trying to pick up a girl why would I want somebody else with me at that moment, even if on the chance that person/people was/were my "wingman/wingmen" (and I don't think that's how "wingmanning" works anyway)? I always find that so weird, as if should the attempt at picking her up be successful they'd "share" her or something and I question why, especially as a straight male.

Thanks for the translation.

The fact that so many of you don't understand the usage of this trope is honestly pretty sad. Yes, it is cliche, but it has an important usage in this story. This is not a situation where 'man has to save helpless woman', but is instead a trust and reliability litmus test for the characters.

Clearly, Tsuruse said in her internal dialouge that she deals with these situations from time to time, so she doesn't normally need help to take care of pick-up artists. However, due to her lack of sleep she simply can't muster up her normal strength or ferocity to deal with it, which is why Tsukinawa steps in. Which is important for him to display that he's not just a cute face, but can also take care of problems on his own (even if Tsuruse wouldn't normally need help). Plus, it gives the author a chance to make the cute male lead look manly and badass. Additionally, you guys are underestimating Japan's nampa (pick-up artist) 'culture', and their desire to not get involved in the trouble of others.

I'm betting on he is a current or former martial artist or something else. Tsuruse did say previously that he seemed to have a toned/trained body.

Ah yes, good old "girl is waiting and some jerks try to flirt with her so MC has to rescue her" thing, classic

Big reveal next chapter. I mean... I think big, I don't speak japanese, but I looked at the raws, and it seems big...
Not really. Dude flashes a big scar on his head, tells the dude to get his hands off his girl, switching from boku to ore while doing it. Her brain breaks so hard at the situation she breaks out an obsolete kana to make a "weh" noise.

So it's some sleazy nanpa fuckboys after all. But Shuu also showed up to save Masaki, and while I do appreciate his timely intervention, I admit I'm not a fan of this "suddenly she's weak, unable to resist and needs rescue" damsel-in-distress trope. I kinda wanted her mean look alone to drive them away, but oh well.

Do your thing, bro. Kick their asses and make us proud. Put those hidden gains and secret skillz to use.

Toshinori must have some sort of fear of going to the bathroom, it always happens when the dude needs to go (Both in "No Guard Wife" and in here, haha)

I also dislike this trope, and just how EXACTLY the same it is everytime... Which is less the definition of a trope, that would be more of a cliché, I guess.

After seeing those nanpa practitioners in SO many manga, I already can't help but believe that in every Japanese city, there's 1 nanpa crook per 100 citizens. Like they say, there's no smoke without fire. It's crazy.
