Can't believe I never noticed the return o Sa-chan before. sa-chan was way ahead of the game in this manga, she lived before her time.

There was a small hint to why Hajime believed that she doesn't like him at the time in chapter 11.

So he probably had a good reason on why he thought she didn't have romantic feelings for him.

There isn't a full explanation yet in the story, but it's only slightly foreshadowed. I would except volume 5 to have an explanation whenever that comes out.

It seems that in volume 1 of the manga he is confused about her because she was so different during their 1st year together.

So he's sort of experiencing whiplash in 2nd year because of her change in personality. At least that's my theory currently.

Also the author seems to enjoy making her stories have lots of explanations to them.
