Surströmming, aka. Fermented Baltic Herring, is indeed a horribly smelling Swedish speciality. Sweden and Finland has special dispensation to catch and prepare it, it is outlawed in the rest of EU.

Should "some of them lick the window until they melt it" be "some of them licked the window until they melted it"?

If so, I think there were a few other small typos/grammatical here and there. The chapters to be quite verbose, however, so I can't imagine how rough it is to translate everything perfectly. Thanks for your efforts.
