I hope you enjoyed this special chapter, no news about the continuation of this series yet and it's still TBA on the main site so let's just wait patiently 🙇♂️
A colored chapter? In this economy?!
Thank you for the scalation, going back to the start of the story really highlights the descent into chaos that was this whole manga.
Now I'm just trying to figure out why they're eyes are like this.
HER EYES ARE LIKE BRIGHT CRIMSON RED IN THE LATER CHAPTERS, Also Hajime's eyes are like a bright light blue while his eyes in the early chapters is almost like a gray.
I'm pretty sure this chapter exists for two reasons.
One is obviously for lore, and how Yuka noticed Hajime first.
Two being that Shirosawa must have messed up Yuka's eyes earlier, so he must have went back and made this chapter to explain why her eyes go from black→red.
I think the eyes have something to do with ambition or happiness, it's one of the supernatural elements of the story.
since the story has so much to do about "freedom" and "being true to yourself" I bet the eyes getting brighter in color must mean that the characters are being more and more true to themselves.
And there's the whole Hajime being depressed thing since he never got any recognition for the hard work that he did, and his father died too. So Hajime ended up becoming truly free in the worst way possible because he then has absolutely nothing to lose, that's why he acts crazy in the later past chapters. There's also that one small detail on how Hajime is kind of killing himself, how his only hobby is sleeping, and that his home's fridge is empty, he probably planned on just withering away before meeting Yuka.
Nimo's eyes go from brown to golden in the later chapters, or maybe that's just a mistake.
