man i always hated the stupid ranking system.
like why is it even there? for insurance? i mean its not like car insurance where adventurers would have to get paid after death or something if they bite off more than they chew
maybe from a writer's perspective or something, the ranking system makes it easier for readers to go "oh ok so that guy's strong" by slapping an S-rank label to them, instead of letting the reader figure it out themselves, which sounds like a cop out for the guild system imo. It also could make it easier for the reader to tell that the mc is growing in some capacity, which after reading like 50 other stories with almost identical ranking systems, it gets repetitive and i would say eliminates the uncertainty of whether the mc has actually grown or not.

i know but its just dumb and lazy,
at least stuff like one piece gets more creative with their bounty system, it keeps people guessing,
i always hated the stupid ass power ranking system, i liked it better when its like jojo or hxh, where its not about whos stronger but who counters who or uses their power better etc in creative ways,
for example in part 3 star platinum has the best stats out of all the stands but is routinely countered and almost defeated by weaker stand's

"The reason is simple, I indulged in VR games..."
Imagine VR games having developed better swordfighting techniques than a world with actual swordfighting, honed by years of fighting experience and skill from veteran swordfighters. It's like some dude bragging about how he's played so much VR FPS games as the reason he beats actual veteran sharpshooters at real shooting. A stretch, to say the least.

Just use innate talent as a reason, that's way more believable... or that he's a god. So now he's also a talented patissier who makes sweets that can impress anyone the first time they taste it. Thankfully the segment seemed short enough. He's already getting glazed enough as it is. I don't know what him being good at making sweets was supposed to convey to the reader apart from "He's basically super good at anything, really. Nanomachines, son."

I kinda like that Elna has a bit more believable armor than Cleria, if I just ignore how her upper chest is basically unprotected to show off that cleavage, because of course it has to be done...

I was expecting the unknown word to be some distinction of higher nobility, kinda surprised she's a princess. I suppose royalty have a higher magic pool in this world?
