Well our main characters (the teacher couple) are getting involved so that's our yuri. I'm assuming we'll see them step in now since this issue is something they should have some knowledge about.

SrNevik is correct. Even the first storyline was basically a 'love detective' story. It was just told from the Shimizu's point of view since we were still learning the main characters. Going forward we can expect more storylines using the same pattern. MC involvement around the beginning and end of the storyline. Involvement in middle only when MC is required or directly involved.

I kinda like the setup.
The ...I guess "titular" couple are gay, but not ever relationship in that world is going to be the same. And I don't know if this is going to be a major component and/or subtheme or what, but a comparison of what different types of relationships, between different types of people, at different points of life, would be super interesting.
Especially as it seems a lot of the characters will be connected in some fashion, either directly, or by proximity with the potential of being roped into the scenario, like our sensei here on the phone with the truant student. So the dynamics at play for each individual, and couple, and how they try to make sense of their relationships and one another and themselves - all inside a larger series of vignettes - seems like a great setup to this overall story.

Compared to the previous students, they were completely focused on that trio and the glasses girl wasn't comfortable with the boys she met so far, basically seemed the protagonist past.

I could understand that. I think some of the similarities, both visual and narrative, are on purpose here, especially considering the final question of the chapter ("you have experience, don't you?). They're supposed to mirror each other to an extent and I'm imagining that'll play a part in how our main couple is able to help. The characters might even see themselves in these two, within reason.
