Technically the hormones in his body should affect his behavior. Even if he isn't mentally attracted, his body should still respond.

I do not know in which community you live or if my poor English gives you an idea that I am young but couples (in real life) of more than "10 years"(20 or even more than that) of separation are not so rare and less in the old ages.
Finally, the state of the body is more powerful than the mind (drugs and medicines or even diseases are examples that people can change their mental state, but I do not plan to start teaching), the MC is in a young body, in the pinnacle of human vitality, one thing is that for his other life he doesn't want but that his body reacts and another is that he emphatically does not feel anything "or realize" what others want (hetare/donkan).
Well, it is useless to continue with this, in the novels for every 20 only 1 has an "acceptable" MC even a novel that is not to my liking as "World Teacher" best expresses what I try to say.

I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, but I can tell you that it's not impossible to not feel attracted to the opposite sex simply because of a difference in generation. People have different tastes; people don't just feel attracted to anyone indiscriminately.

He gets excited from getting hugged by his homeroom teacher; there's no denying that he has that in him.
Also, iirc, his body is like what, 12? He's barely into his puberty anyway.
And don't forget that his friends are also nearly the same age as his boy self is.

@jonsmth Nah, they are all definitely well into puberty. There are plenty of clues to this effect
1. Zeff has shown attraction to both Redia (well at least her boobs as shown in chapter 14 for example) and his teacher Claire (chapter 1)
2. The girls have certainly shown that they are attracted to him (chapter 9 for Milly for example, but lots of others).
3. Milly and Zeff graduated from school which is why they were allowed to head out on their adventure (chapter 13).
4. Zeff isn't 100% oblivious to inuendo. (chapter 14 for example when he asked Claude to take off her armor and when he's in the bath with them later in the same chapter).
So him being completely oblivious in this particular chapter is counter to what has already happened earlier in the same manga.
Also, physical attraction and mental attraction are separate things. You can love someone without being physically attracted to them (your parents or grandparents for example) and your body can react to a stimulus without any type of mental attraction (morning wood for example).
The two things do not have to be linked.

@Dregenburn That's not true though, his potential to magic is extremely similar to hers, but he doesn't consider it as such because his talents lie in some kinds of magic he wasn't interested in learning. I wonder why he keeps putting himself down when he is actually really talented.
