Keep in mind that Magnus was sent from where the heroes were to the depths of the castle, yey was fast enough to get to where the heroes were, minus a few minutes for the initial fight. He doesn’t look winded at all, nor did he rush in (he was literally just standing in the doorway).

What I’m trying to say is that he is definitely fast enough to have stopped the tentacle hand rape, but chose not to.
