"And we all will feel gay when johny comes marching home"
Oh man, i don't know who is this johny fella but if he can turn people gay we should lock him up. It's a good thing that words can't change overtime.
There is this thing called context. If I use spinster in the modern days, I would be referring to an unmarried woman. If I was a peasant back in the Middle Ages, I would be referring to an occupation. Same for the word "idol" in the bible vs on current day social media. Obviously they would be using the historical definition instead of the modern definition, considering the fact that they are not in the modern times.

Using your same example, when you got outraged over left/right wing, it is like getting outraged over When Johnny Comes Marching Home has "gay" in the lyrics. It must be those gosh darn people pushing their agenda! I don't care if gay has a different meaning in the past. It's obviously using the modern definition!

Except here's the problem with your reasoning, HE'S A MODERN DAY JAPANESE PERSON. Does this mean that if someone from le olden days when gay was happy were to be magically transported to modern day and describe himself as "gay" it would mean that he is coming out of the closet? Or would it mean that he took his definitions with him and just expressed his happiness?

If the person had spent more than a year living in the modern times, (MC was 5 years old in Chapter 1, turned 6 in Chapter 3, and presumably Chapter 7 is several months after that.) I would certainly expect that he would have learnt and started using the modern definition. If I had lived in France for more than a year, and was in France when I said "pain", it's much more likely for me to be using the French definition (bread) instead of the English definition.

Besides, MC literally said that the country is "moderately conservative" in the following sentence. Following your logic of MC using the modern definition, MC must be comparing the kingdom to our modern day conservatives! Which is obviously not the case.

The chances that a child would get to learn the words "right wing" and "left wing" are pretty low, so i assume the MC would be still using the meaning from before his reincarnation. There's also the problem of author, as he is a modern day person so it's only proper to assume that he doesn't use the old meanings. You can go and see that most manga would call them "reformats" and "conservatives"(Man if only the word "conservative" had a meaning that didn't depend on the current political climate) instead of using terms that now mean something else. If johny comes marching home to be rewritten, i doubt they would keep the word gay instead of happy.

This is a quite relevant plot point for the story which will be addressed much later. Like really down the road in the future.
Btw is the manga original or this is adaptation from novel / LN / WN? If it's adaptation is it still ongoing or already finished? If finished, how did the end go? I don't mind spoiler.

The manga is an adaptation of a webnovel of the same name and yes, it's finished already.
I've seen a comment of someone who have read the story explaining this. I skimmed the raws and agree with what they said.

Greg Hunsicker
So I went and read the novel to this, since it intrigued me enough to go find it. This is a really chill story. She's been reborn into an otome game world that she has zero knowledge about. The only hints at this is the characters and background settings.

The manga chapters aren't here, but in the very beginning. She met the original, who lamented that she was tired of repeating the cycle over and over again. This doesn't seem to weigh to heavily on the MC, as she just decides to take things as they come.

Through out the story you get hints and vestiges of the original story line that should have happened but didn't. It seems as though she was supposed to have been a side character, who probably died in a revolutionary war. She becomes a fiance candidate to the prince, along with another young girl a little older than her. This is clearly the villainess and the OG Miranda wouldn't have been a strong candidate. Interestingly enough, we can also figure out just why the villainess turned out the way she did.

She never wanted to marry the prince in the first place. She was in love with her childhood friend/lover, even at a very young age. She resented the royal family for forcing the marriage on her and her father is the head of the faction that wants to decrease the royal families authority. Later in the story, the MC see's a girl who she identifies immedietly as the OG Heroine of the story. But Miranda has already been changing quite a few things, one of them being that she's now the fiance of the prince. So she interacts with the OG Heroine and because of this, she doesn't experience the bullying and need for protection the original needed. The war, also never happens. Since the anger that would have flared up from having the dukes daughter forceably married to the royal family only to be dumped because of an adopted commoner noble didn't happen.

In fact, Miranda and the Prince (whose also a reincarnated gender bent and was also the MC's friend) make alot of policies and slowly progress the country into a more democratic country. Where the royal family only needs to take care of the major things. Ultimately quelling the growing rebellion that was building in the country. So that's what's kind of interesting about this story, the puzzeling out, and figuring out what SHOULD have happened.
Because of missing chapters on here. MC is Genderbent and was originally a 50ish yr old Uncle, who had a yuri/yaoi fetish. He had an equally rotten friend, a woman around the same age and they dated quite often. This is the prince. So yeah, funnily enough, the prince is also genderbent. They also both agree, they could probably only ever be attracted to each other.

I wouldn't mind turning into a little girl after death.
I see what you did there.

She's one of those friends that just comes over to do barely anything and sees one thing, leaves right after.

They don't have that enough trust yet.

Over time the manga may choose yuri or bro con.

The quality of the translations seems perfect. I love the fact they use japanese words when the MC is trying to translate stuff in their heads. That's the way to do it!

As always, the genderbending part seems totally pointless. Maybe some day I will understand what's with the fixation manga authors have about it.

or just might turn into a normal manga, which it already seems but with a plush/doll addiction. Too much of it...
I think this will end up axed, like Restaurant from Another World.

Some good novels really end fast just because people forget.
