Finally caught up to this and man this is a magnificent piece of work. All the characters are made well though I still don't quite get how the female antagonist managed to sway so many people like it was magic unless it was but I haven't seen anything in line with that.
9/10, deducted 1 just because I'm not sure how I feel about how realistic that whole 'she has the ability to sway everyone under her' thing would really work out.

I'm not sure how actually to classify this... i great josei or a good seinen, but I'm loving it. My only problem is how ambiguous it is when she regained her memories. I'm thinking it's after she got denounced at school and was forced to withdraw from. Am I right?

I read this manga up to 64. So boring, too much politics. The story isn't advancing much. It was fun and enjoyable, but for me, not anymore.

This is one of the most widely known villainess manga I can think of, WHY is her arm like that in the cover

It is a good read if you are 12 years old. Otherwise skip this and find something else to read.

this manga was enjoyable for me but i still have some criticisms that i wont hold back on

1) lack of isekai feelings - the story pretty much ignores a lot of her previous life aspects and just use it as knowledge to help her succeed.

2) she averted the “bad ending” like a few chapters in - absolute BRUH.

3) due to the lack of exploration of her previous life, her personality is quite strange as she is very similar to the original Iris’s personality idk its just me thinking but really did their brains get merged or smthing at least let us know more about the past life.

Well this was a huge disappointment. I'm dropping it after 2 vol (19 ch). I decided to give it a try after seeing high rating and +ve comments, but it turned out to be a generic reincarnation princess manga.

@Schaden_Freude I hope this paragraph answers your questions.
The manga though, confuses the reader a bit by going quickly over the reincarnation part. The novel makes this a bit more clear.
Now what I'm going to say now isn't a spoiler, rather a way to clear up the confusion of those who've read it and make the description of the story more understandable: Iris isn't transported to a life in an otome game - rather, the moment the manga introduces her in her current life is the moment she remembers everything from her past life. A past life in which she had played the otome game that had revealed her downfall in her current life.

Well this was a huge disappointment.
Yes, for me the interesting part is the transformation of the economy and the creation of the conglomerate with the scheming part.

Hopefully for you, you didn't read the romance arc and
the real villainess arc who is just the heroine of the otome game.
(wow!):dogewow:

Without the economy part the story is really cliché. :nyoron:

The thing with this feeling generic, is that it's among the first Villainess manga. I'm not sure which was the one that set the trend, but this was at least among the first few to get popular, so it was unique at the time and interesting because it was a new and fresh concept at a time where isekai was big but the tropes weren't as established as they are now. Other villainess manga did many things better than this did, and it didn't age well as a result.

It's incredibly slow.

I am 25 chapters in and nothing much has happened. Some establishment of company, talking about tax reforms, but the taxation is not discussed in enough depth or not used much for pushing whatever aims the duchess had.

The characters so far are also relatively flat and there is very little drama, tension etc.

Not bad, just... too bland.
