It's 5.1 and 5.2 joined together. They released the half chapters in their original format on their website, but joined them for MD. And the way I interpret the release on yanmaga 5.1 seems to be the first chapter of volume 2.

To be fair for the old man, the last time he had any human interaction was when he was 8 (which involved his dad abandoning him in the mountain + his stepmom revealing to have cursed him), and that was 300 years ago.

You spend 300 years as a recluse since you're a kid, you'd probably have no idea how to interact with society lol.

I suspect we'll find out about the family soon enough. I'm not so sure their prestige would get them very far with a Sword Saint who was that shitty, and a mom like that. I might feel bad for his half-brother though, but that'll depend on how he and his descendants turned out.

For the curse, Slimes probably kept it at bay like maintenance meds, but I suspect gaining immortality from the Dragon overwhelmed it completely.

A very reasonable conclusion, but for now it seems as if the author (and the mc) just forgot about it.

who knows, maybe shrinking back into a child size also shrunk the effective capacity of his brain to a child's while it was at it.
