And that sucks, this was one of my favorite series.
That's really fuckin lame. I hope it gets a sequel afterwards, also one of my favorites because of how cute and wholesome it was.

fuck. theres so few romcom mangas im reading that focus on their progress as a couple and thats what ive been looking for to read at the moment, stalling, and stretching the manga just for the confession and start dating part then ending it is so old news.
We want a manga that focuses on their daily progress as a couple, and im deeply frustrated with komi-san about that, almost 400 chapters and we still have so little romantic progress between the two.

Here are some you might find interesting.

Tonikawa has the couple married. Shikimori has the couple already together. Yancha Gal no Anjou-san has continued post confession. The girl I like forgot her glasses, though the confession just happened, it is still ongoing. Are you really getting Married?/365 days till the wedding. The Matter Regarding the Female Knight Who Came to Live With Me in the Countryside.

Oh for love of god, why can't Japanese folks imagine happy couple life, there's like twenty romcoms that end at confession for each one that doesn't
HONESTLY! I mean, I know their birthrate is in the toilet and mangakas don’t know anything beyond young love (and porn), but COME ON!

Because writing a real relationship is hard. I mean, most of the time when the series continue after confession nothing significant changes anyway.
I don't really need any significant to change; I just want to see some cute dates, getting flustered because you're going out with the partner of your dreams, that kind of thing.

And this series in particular had a secondary line about how Shirashi's been growing as a person and they could have kept going with that for a bit longer.

I will second "Are You Really Getting Married" as being pretty good if you're into awkward adults coping with stumbling into love. It absolutely caught me offguard since I started reading it at the same time as "Rare Marriage" and expected them both to not amount to much.

Thanks for the suggestions! i am currently reading the girl that forgot her glasses and anjou san, which are really great reads, adding to that, please go home akutsu-san. and with shikimori well.. it kinda focused more on their school life but with hints of progress but i wanted more lol, still a good read.

ill add them to my list!
and im glad there are romcoms that focus on adults having awkward coping with adulting life and adult relationships since i am at that point irl. Ice guy and cool female colleague and Wotakoi are great but i think the authors have given up updating it.

I know what you mean. There is so much story to tell after the couple gets together.

I've been watching the ice guy anime and keep meaning to to watch wotakoi. Also for awkward adults you might give Telework Yotanbanashi a try.

Something else popped into my head Hajimete no gal follows the couple into college, and the experienced you and inexperienced me starts with the confession.

i am reading hajimete no gal at the moment but stopped with in fear of NTR, seeing it with so many chapters. Thanks! ill add that to my list

Yeah, id just want to lay back and read some good romcom focused to both of the MC couple, having so much drama irl id just want to have a safe space.

Wotakoi was good (and I need to finish it), but yeah that series finished up last year too.

Sadly the good series end too soon and the garbage ones jerk you around for 400 chapters and never make any satisfying
progress.

wholeheartedly agreed. theres also Yaiteru Futari with adult relationship which stirs around marriage and food if youre into it.

i just dropped dosanko gal furiously since which i thought the author is in a twisted mind at the moment and played circus with his/her work. i dont need another rent a gf manga.
Komi is almost 400 chapters in and their progress as a couple is too little to none, author focused more on school life and enthusiastically worked on having 100 friends which choked up the story(relationship) really well.
Tomo-chan with 500 chapters in 4-koma had better pacing than that imho but, it sucks it ended after the
confession
.

welp they arnt gonna extend it, we only have 3 chapters left :(
I feel like we're running out of ways to stall. Plus it's been 2 chapters since we've had any actual Kubo speaking lines, which is super-rare for this series.

I sure hope not! If Kaguya can do a long post-confession arc, there's no reason we can't follow these two through at least the rest of the school year.

To be honest ending in confession is kind of outdate (source, I read a lot of romcoms). We generally have at least one or two chapters post confession but it's common to have more

It's seems we will have just 3 more chapters...
I hate when they end with the confession, and it's kind of outdated to end like that (unless the manga is axed, with I doubt)
This is legit upsetting. I thought we'd moved past the Heisei BS of "confession and boom the end" and into glorious Reiwa days (Horimiya, Boarding School Juliet etc).

Yeah, I didn't know it was a Heisei thing but I did know it was outdated.
We even have a lot of romcoms just about the couple it self (Shikimori-san , Tonikaku Kawaii and even Shin no Nakama) (They seem to like to use Kawaii on those)
