Was okay, nothing outstanding, but not bad either.

However, this is 100% unrealistic. The bully didn't apologize, and you just let that man get away with sexual assault. Mainly the sexual assault part, that's not okay. Forgiving someone and shielding them from the consequences of their actions are two different things, and the latter should never ever be done. Even if the child idolizes his father, the existence of a child does not suddenly change the context. Your father was a predator. 100% should've turned himself in or something along those lines.
