Rin's father was attacked by a zombie but out of pure will kept his consciousness and is protecting his daughter while eating meat he hunts. The woman who they saved gasoline'd all the zombies she could and went out with a bang after seeing her beloved, who promised to meet up with her, had turned into a zombie himself (you can see her scarf wrapped around his arm.) Rip rip.
