For context, Hiroshima is considered a boonies compared to Tokyo and for some reason is associated with yakuza. There's a series of famous Yakuza movies set in Hiroshima, so a lot of japanese people probably associate the dialect with delinquents/yakuza.

I guess the Hiroshima / Onomichi setting in Yakuza 6 was long overdue.

Not gonna argue about the dialect translation choice, as that is a subjective thing, but I did some light digging, and I read that the hiroshima dialect is sometimes associated with the japanese mafia, so I (personally) read it in an "italian mobster" voice (which also kinda fits with the look he had in the entrance ceremony chapter)

Fun fact: The Hiroshima accent is commonly stereotyped as the Yakuza and Delinquent voice due to the 1970s movie "Yakuza", so it makes sense for Kuma, but it would prolly be better translated as a rough New Yorker or Boston Accent.

Cute lol, I wonder how noticeable it is to non-native speakers, i only rly ever hear a 'diff' like with Majima (yakuza/like a dragon) or like Goku and some other guys that speak a bit more 'slang/modern-ly' like having some of the ends of their words being like -ssu (idk if gyaru speak also counts as a dialect other than just slang like those "Gals who say insane things")
