You miss a ton of stuff in the first 8 volumes. Starting from the start (or volume 3 if you watched the anime) is still recommended.

Yeah, skipping all this stuff will leave manga-onlys confused eventually. Although I doubt there are many left who resisted the impulse to watch the anime or read the novels. But to be fair most of things skipped are actually super boring and tedious. The other povs were really a drag to read in the novel, even if they turned out to be relevant later.

I watched one episode of the anime and idn't like it and have never touched the LN and have no desire to.

She still has power. The diff is that now the training wheels called “skills” are off, so she now has to learn how to knowingly do all the stuff by herself instead of letting the skill do the do. Eg: she now has to consciously learn how to spit out threads instead of letting her skill do it, especially since she’s no longer biologically spider-shaped.

Like having to draw a background manually instead of using AI to generate you the background.

but I like this because of those things, I liked the video game tropes, and now its something different. I just wish they would stick with the original concept
