@linkhuesitos15 for Kumoko’s design, neither design looks particularly difficult to animate (id even argue that the LN design is more difficult because the face isn’t completely round like the manga’s Kumoko. It has that weird nose and super “Kawaii” anime eyes). The LN’s designs for human characters looks better but that still doesn’t really excuse the decision to make Kumoko so ugly. They could’ve taken the manga’s design for Kumoko and taken the LN’s designs for the human characters.

Fair enough but there's also the problem that Tsukasa's (mangaka-kun) designs for Kumo actually go againist the Worldbuilding.
Zoa Ere and Ede Saine are both know as Omen of bad luck and dead respectively. Ede Saine is especially feared due to it's skull like exoskeleton which the manga design ignored for some reason.

Then it's the case of Zana Horowa which is literally an undead monster but for some reason in the manga it looks like a bee.

Kumoko in the manga looks really good and charming but that is in fact also a downside. The manga droped many features to make Kumo look more cutesy.

One does not simply
stroll right into the hole an incredibly powerful being has been stuck in when you KNOW she's an op spider-monster and setting traps is literally the basic of the basics.

I was wondering how they'd
bring the MC back to OP levels
.
Clever writing.
