This feels like an artificial block for the sake of it. The perils of desperation for money won't be resloved with this "lesson". Advise, caution, and prepare the students, but let's be honest someone who's broke and desperate is still likely to do all the shenanigans described if they're that way inclined.

Seifi confuses me. I can't tell if she's enamored or angered by Kunon. She dislikes his master, she's biting her nails, her brow is hella furrowed. Seems angry. But then she drops that line about being five years younger. What is she saying she'd do if she were younger? Date him, or fight him?

his constantly flirtatious behavior despite having a fiancee he supposedly deeply loves keeps confusing me
You can blame his first maid for that. Apparently, she taught him plenty of mannerisms, compliments and whatnot in order to raise him as a "gentleman" that would treat the ladies well. He isn't even really aware of the actual implications of his behaviour.

(Un)fortunately, he ended up become an unintentional rizz dispenser without even trying to.

"Morally, it's questionable. Personally, it's funny."

nah, it will never be 100% because ppl have tastes, which can be brought down to, of every 10 ppl, 2 you won't like at all. Could be something physical, how they move, how they talk, or even something like a "feeling".
So it will never be 100% whoever says they like all ppl, lies, to itself and to everyone else.

At first, she was put off by MC's "flirting" and got annoyed at his connection with his master, who she "hates". Then she got used to MC's banter and decided to roll with it. And lastly, at realizing just how talented MC is, she's (apparently) really regretting not being younger to pursue a relationship with MC.

They do have a safety net - it's that they take the guided class. If they actually do get desperate, they can just switch. It's better that they have this happen now than later.

School systems are always going to have some sort of "artificial block". The merit (at least what society really cares about) of going through school is having these obstacles and acquiring the knowledge and proof to be able to overcome them.

Uhm... I don't want to be that guy, but 6 hours a day for a week is crazy work for 1 single chapter, and for this quality. Not sure if you just wanted to get pity points but that's wild.

Edit: Before anyone finds fault in it, I know how hard is it to translate and edit manga. I do that too. In my opinion, it would take 6 hours max if you actually kept doing it, or even if you are really slow, maybe 2 days, so 12 hours.

It's not a lesson, it's a 'test' for special students just like earning the 10 credits.
If they don't want to, as he said just dropping to regular courses will remove the requirement.

It's very free form because what each person can/willing to do differs.
Like how Kunon is offering sleep service here compare to his master working on magic tool.
Or the saintess (idea from Kunon) growing rare flower to turn into medicine and sell them.

Or Hank making bacon for Kunon.

I think the saint has nothing much to worry about when it comes to earning money. She can sell "healing services" to both nobles and elite adventurers alike. She can also become an adventurer herself and perform undead purification quests here and there.

Then, there's the less ethical option of "money laundering" where the holy state/country she's from makes a shell company/merchant organization and hires her "on paper" but is actually just a way to funnel allowance into her pocket under the guise of "employment".

To be fair, sleep services would be godsent. Imagine sleeping on a water bed that's perfectly molded to your body and offers the perfect firmness when requested as well as prevents any unwanted tossing and turning. It's literally guaranteed to have the best night of sleep.

I find it absolutely stupid how magic research is not state funded. So you're telling me your potential greatest military asset as well as biggest sector of technological innovation is in no way backed by the state?? What a way to fall into economic ruin
not every research is profitable and usable for large and national scale. plus not to mention not every research end with success and mage usually have their own pride to not help or receiving other mage help.
look at our world, not every research is funded by state. most of them funded by cooperate with exclusive right to produce and sold it.

Because the magic city is a city state that only cares about nurturing mages.

There's other kingdoms that would have liked to do that with their budding talents but then again, Special class can't have outside backing and must research by themselves.

Even then the court mages probably do have state funded research, you just ain't gonna see it cuz we focus on Kunon duh.

Water mage A.K.A. male prostitute (audio only)
water is very adaptable and easily conforms and penetrates even the most difficult to reach places. Also has a tendency to leave one feeling cleansed and refreshed...

Thought they were very blunt in there reasoning as to why the students needed to personally earn their own living expenses. Not only does it teach them fiscal responsibility, but also helps to curb the more egregious excess that plagues the privileged or least exposes their proclivities before reaching harmful levels.

And this is only during the few years at the school. I doubt these restrictions would continue on after graduation. So why would restricting a student's research funding for a few years matter, if it teaches them to better manage the expenses and expectations later in their careers.

I didn't expect that someone like the Saint also has to personally pay her bodyguards. Shouldn't that be under the Church?
The ban blocks funding coming from her organization too I guess, so even if it was them who are paying her guards, the money isn't going to be arriving. If it was allowed, it would have been simple to find loopholes in this ban like giving the guards extra money and the saint ordering the guards to buy things using their "personal" funds.

Also consider this: if you're only working to earn a living, who would you be more loyal to? Your employer? Or the little girl you're babysitting? I suppose letting the saint be in charge of their salaries gives her some modicum of power.
