I mean, she’s already pouted about the potential of him joining the student council and she’s admitted to I forget who that he’s the person she’s closest to/most comfortable with. Like no she’s not gonna SAY he’s her friend but it’s absolutely obvious she considers him to be one. Reading the comments genuinely makes me think no one is capable of understanding subtext or subtlety. I mean for Christ sakes she’s spinning in circles thinking about buying him a gift, it’s painfully obvious at this point to anyone who doesn’t just blindly trust the literal words on page.

By your same logic why are you friendzoning him and don't jump ahead and say that she is in love instead and actually wants him to date her and be more than friends?

Oh look she's having a conversation with her brother and it's entirely about her desire to get something nice for Tabata, with her brother having repeatedly noting how close she and Tabata have gotten and how it's changed her.

Nah they'll probably keep going with the bro-con complaints. It's crazy that in one of the earlier chapters when Touko first realized that her brother and Tabata knew each other, people here kept saying that her constantly bringing up what he talked with her brother about as proof that she's too focused on her brother (incest), but didn't realize that all of her questions were regarding what her brother may have divulged about her behavior to Tabata.

In short, she was paranoid about her brother revealing some embarrassing things to Tabata, such as the fact that she basically talks about the latter nonstop at home. Not a single comment on that chapter ever considered the more likely possibility I just described, they all thought she was just being too much of a bro-con. I thought everyone here was thick and dense as hell.
