So to sum it up, you're basically saying "age is just a number"?And we're not speaking legally here. The user up there seemed personally, morally disgruntled by her less-than-18 age.
"Readiness for relationships", as much as it can be measured at all, depends on one's life experience, personality, and probably a slew of other factors, and it's only indirectly tied to age. The only reason the law has a specific number is because it would be too messy otherwise. And yet people treat it like it has some moral weight.
(if someone tries to misread that as "age is just a number", I swear I'm gonna bonk you)
Nah, just kidding.
"Readiness for relationships" in my honest opinion, as you describe it, is the true deciding factor. Of course, not to say that someone who's like 15 should ever be dating someone 19+ since it's probably virtually impossible to be psychologically mature at or below the age of a first-year high schooler. I mean, brain development doesn't finish until like 25 for most humans.. which is also why alcohol age limit is usually so high to prevent chemical interference with that.
Age gaps usually don't bother me depending on the circumstance.. though for example I would be vehemently against even a 19-year old, one highly experienced in relationships, hitting up an 18-year old individual who is socially inexperienced and has been sheltered their whole life.
